What exactly do you have to do?

 

Classroom teachers

 

First Semester

 

Write 3 different 30 minute lesson plans that help students learn about careers related to the courses you are teaching. 

    • Each lesson must require that students do a follow-up or complementary activity to go with the lesson (i.e. research paper, essay, brochure, scavenger hunt, etc.)
    • At least one of the lesson plans must require that students do a writing assignment.

Use these lesson plans with at least two different classes. 

Hand in your lesson plans and a reflection sheet for each lesson as you complete them.

Have students in the classes that you will do the GIP with take the mid term questionnaire.

Due by December 14, 2007

  

Second Semester

Certified Staff not in the Classroom

 

First Semester

 

Mentor a minimum of 4 students in at least two different grade levels. 

Meet with your mentor students at least 3 times throughout the semester and talk to them about different careers.  Show them career tools and help them investigate careers they might be interested in. 

Have students you have mentored fill out the semester evaluation form. 

 

Due by December 14, 2007

 

Second Semester
