Parking Information for the 2007-08 School Year

Due to the ongoing growth and limited parking spaces at Chaparral, all seniors will be offered a parking space.  With the limited parking spaces left over a lottery will be conducted for all juniors interested in parking and have no outstanding fees or fines.  Please note that there will be NO parking available for sophomores at this time.  Thank you for your understanding.  Please plan appropriately for your students if they are unable to receive a parking space.

Safe2Tell is modeled after the Student Crime Stoppers program.  It allows students, teachers, parents or anyone else to call 877-542-SAFE, a toll free hotline within the state of Colorado, to report information about a crime that has already happened, or one they fear may happen.

Canine Inspections Help Insure Student Safety

For several years, the Douglas County School District Security Department, in cooperation with the Douglas county Sheriff's Office, have conducted random canine inspections of student lockers and vehicles to check for drugs or drug paraphernalia at district schools.

This is to announce to students, parents and staff that there will be several unannounced canine inspections of student lockers and vehicles at Chaparral High School during the 2007-08 school year.  Using canine inspections serves as an effective deterrent for students who may consider brining illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia into our school.  These inspections are authorized by the Board of Education Policy JIH.  Students are subject to disciplinary action pending the outcome of these inspections in accordance to the student code of conduct.

If you have additional questions about canine inspections, please contact the DCSD Office of School Safety and Security at 303-387-9999.
