Canine Inspections Help Insure Student Safety
For several years, the Douglas County School District Security Department, in cooperation with the Douglas county Sheriff's Office, have conducted random canine inspections of student lockers and vehicles to check for drugs or drug paraphernalia at district schools.
This is to announce to students, parents and staff that there will be several unannounced canine inspections of student lockers and vehicles at Chaparral High School during the 2007-08 school year. Using canine inspections serves as an effective deterrent for students who may consider brining illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia into our school. These inspections are authorized by the Board of Education Policy JIH. Students are subject to disciplinary action pending the outcome of these inspections in accordance to the student code of conduct.
If you have additional questions about canine inspections, please contact the DCSD Office of School Safety and Security at 303-387-9999.
