Here are some searching tips that help me, perhaps they might help you in your search.
USE THE ADVANCE SEARCH
- It doesn't matter what search engine you are using, look for the "advance search" link.
- On the line that says exact phrase, type in the key word pharse or person's name, for excample, John F Kennedy or illegal immigration.
- If you don't want any commercial sites in your results, put .com in the line that says without the words.
- If your search results in too many hits, try putting more words in the without the words line. An example might be, adding film and movie if you were searching for "Of Mice and Men". That would take out any reference to the movie.
- If you are looking for only data, try searching for just powerpoints or excel speadsheets. You do this by looking for the tab for file format and chose .ppt or .xls.
